Dear Mayor Gardner:

Citizens for the Preservation of St. Augustine, Inc. (CPSA), supports the recommendations of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Heritage Tourism Study for St. Augustine. We recognize it’s goals as being in sync with the mission of CPSA as well as with your Mayoralty.

For this reason the Board of Directors of CPSA formally requests that as you form your Heritage Tourism Task Force, you consider the appointment of members of CPSA as well as neighborhood representatives of each residential area affected by tourism and related businesses.

We strongly desire that the voices of preservationists and residents are heard along with those who represent the current economic marketplace. We want to ensure that the St.Augustine of the future will have historic treasures and beautiful neighborhoods that survive and flourish in order that our city will be an even more marvelous place than it is now.
